<p>This rule will prohibit agencies from: (1) procuring or obtaining, or extending or renewing a contract to procure or obtain, any electronic parts, products, or services that include covered semiconductor products or services; or (2) entering into a contract, or extending or renewing a contract, with an entity to procure or obtain electronic parts or products that include covered semiconductor products or services.&nbsp; This rule is issued pursuant to section 5949(a) of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2023.&nbsp;The FAR Council published an advance notice of proposed rulemaking in May of 2024 seeking inputs from the public on implementation considerations. The feedback will be considered in the development of the proposed rule.</p>
