The NCUA issued an NPRM (83 FR 49857, Oct. 3, 2018) that would amend its regulations requiring appraisals of real estate for certain transactions. The proposal would adjust the threshold level at or below which appraisals would not be required for certain real estate transactions. The proposed change to the appraisal threshold reflects comments received through the Economic Growth and Regulatory Paperwork Reduction Act regulatory review process. The NCUA is considering the public comments and working toward a final rule.
